Summary of the Achievement of the Department

i. 300 frontline middle level Community Development workers were trained at the centre for Community Development Education, Benin City in the last two academic sessions for a two year University Diploma in Community Development.

ii. About 2,500 Community Leaders from over 50 communities benefited from our outreach community education programme.

iii. 42 Communities were organized formed and registered as Community Development Associations during the period of present administration.

iv. 22 conflict within communities resolved for sustainable peace and conducive environment for development.

v. Provide technical support to communities who are undertaking at least 85 projects across the state. Most of the projects were commissioned while others are still on going.

vi. Over 5,500 children have benefited from our Daycare services provided by the Community Development Daycare Centres.

vii. Several Communities were sensitized and linked to European Union, World Bank and African Development Bank assisted projects out of which at least 90 communities benefited.
